Stylish aroma of delicate dark fruit, cherry and violet. The palate is well structured with more of the fruit and  a hint of leather and pepper. Long, sweet and elegant mid palate with a persistent finish.

Description

Winners of numerous medals in prestigious competitions and with enthusiastic citations from leading French wine guide Hachette, Domaine Mazilly has been among established Burgundian wine estates for several generations. Today it’s run by Frédéric and his son Aymeric who, with entrepreneurial zest, attend to every aspect of the business from vineyard management to winemaking, bottling and marketing.

Pommard makes quite deep, dense wines for Pinot Noir, which soften beautifully with age. Sensibly priced, the wines offer a great introduction to Burgundy. Les Poutures is one of Pommard’s Premier Cru vineyards right on the edge of the village.

Tasting notes

Stylish aroma of delicate dark fruit, cherry and violet and retains this fragrant element on its generous palate. The palate is well structured with more of the fruit and  a hint of leather and pepper. Long, sweet and scented finish.

Food Matching

Big enough to match boeuf bourguignon.
