Michael Palij is one of only 420 Masters of Wine in the world and an acknowledged expert on the wines of Italy.  Leaving aside all the sniffing and swirling, he is also a mountaineer and had the misfortune to share a tent with Jeff Smith (Founder of Big Moose Charity) when they were on Denali in 2012.  Jeff went on to summit Everest and Michael went on to have two kids, obviously the more difficult of the two challenges he could have chosen.

 

This unique event will see Jeff and Michael team up again to support Cardiff’s very own Big Moose Café in the slightly flatter surroundings of Fine Wine Direct.  The wines for the evening have been donated by Michael, the space by FWD, and Jeff will be on hand in his puffy down suit.  It’s going to be an utterly chilled evening of vinous entertainment with not a wine snob in sight.  And every last penny will go to stop people from killing themselves.  I think you know that you need to be there.
