Since the arrival of Juan Carrau in South America, his name has been synonymous with quality winemaking, passion in the production of fine wines from a tradition that dates back over 10 generations and initiated in Catalonia, Spain. The Bodega Carrau was established in 1930 and was one of the pioneer producer of quality wines, using traditional varieties from the South West of France such as Tannat, Malbec and Petit Manseng. Today Javier Carrau head the bodega and continues to produce a fantastic range of single varietal wines with the aim of representing the unique Uruguayan wine terroir. This Chardonnay is produced in vineyards that benefit from the cool wind of the Atlantic ocean and Rio de la Plata. The grapes are hand harvested and fermented in stainless still tanks. No oak aging in that wine to retain purity of fruit.
