Tasting notes
A very easy drinking Rioja. Siglo Tinto is made from a blend of Tempranillo and Garnacha grapes. This wine has an intense cherry-red colour and stands out for its red fruit, black fruit and liquorice aromas. This wine has had no ageing in oak and is fresh, round with a multitude of nuances that recall the black fruit. Long smooth finish.
Background
Siglo tinto is a symbol of Rioja elaborated by Bodegas Manzanos, a winery with more than 127 years of winemaking tradition and one of the few brands that still preserves the traditional Burgundy bottle. Siglo is one of the most emblematic brand of Appellation Rioja . One of the things that defines Bodegas Manzanos is the large area of vineyards that they own in different parts of Rioja. This is why they, more than anyone else, can elaborate “the Rioja wine”. The Rioja Wine region is located in Northern west Spain , Rioja wineries predominantly use the Tempranillo grape but can also blend with Garnacha and Graciano grown on both sides of the river Ebro for their red wines . The local terrain perfectly delimits the regions and sets it apart from surrounding territories. Rioja is a privileged region for growing grapes and making top quality wines, with a unique personality and exceptional aptitude for ageing.
