Tasting notes
The wine boasts a light greenish yellow colour. On the nose, its bouquet is intense, with clear notes of mango, passion fruit and pineapple. In the mouth it has an impressive attack, mellow, sweet, harmonious, with well-balanced acidity and generous body. Long finish, with clear varietal characteristics, a great example of Patagonian Sauvignon Blanc.
Background
OBVIO Patagonia wines are, at least in one sense, genuinely unique; they are the only wines that exist from this far-flung, mysterious yet familiar region that have a true Welsh connection.
Sourced and blended from some of the oldest vineyards in Rio Negro province by Richard James, a man of Gwent who resides in Buenos Aires and has been working with Argentine wines for over 20 years, they are elegant, versatile and both Malbec and Sauvignon Blanc are easily-adaptable to most dishes and occasions.
Their identity and labels are designed by renowned contemporary artist Emyr Williams who originally hails from Dowlais and who has exhibited all over the world and is considered to be one of the foremost exponents of “abstract expressionism”.
