Background
Siglo is a symbol of Rioja. Bodegas Manzanos, a winery with more than 127 years of winemaking tradition and is one of the few brands that still preserves the traditional Burgundy bottle. The sack around the bottle was originally to keep the wine cool and would be soaked in water in the summer months. One of the things that defines Bodegas Manzanos is the large area of vineyards that they own in different parts of Rioja. This is why they are able to elaborate a red wine that truly represent Rioja and its varieties of Terroir. This wine is a blend of Tempranillo and Garnacha and is aged for 24 month in French and American oak with a further aging of 12 month in bottles. The sack is handmade by ASPRODEMA, an association of adults with learning disability.
