Norma Ratcliffe was one of the first women to start making wine in South Africa in the late 1970’s. She is often referred to as ‘The First Lady’, she released her first wine called ‘La Femme Bleu’- the Blue Lady a Cabernet Sauvignon in 1984.
This wine has a deep and intense ruby red colour. The bouquet reveals red berries, sweet black currants and a pleasant herbal character. It’s 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and has been aged in French oak for 18 months giving the palate a rich and spicy edge.
