Whilst the wines of South Africa are considered to be ‘new world’, the first grapes were pressed there as long ago as 1659. In Victorian times, the reputation of the wines of Constantia was second to none in the world. Sadly, however, under apartheid, wine production and sales became centralised and concentrated on cheap wines made from the Steen, or Chenin Blanc, grape and wine for distillation into brandy. It was only when the individual wine estates became permitted to market their own wines, with the collapse of apartheid, that the renaissance in the South African wine industry began.
Our range from South Africa is concise and well balanced, and packed full of wine from top quality producers. We work with old favourites Warwick Estate, Meerlust, Delheim and Middelvlei from Stellenbosch, whilst the wines from Franschhoek Cellar and Cape Mountain continue to offer great value and are very easy drinking, the range is complemented by the wonderful wines from one of the World’s most picturesque vineyard - Klein Constantia.

Deep crimson with intense blackcurrants and violets on the nose, there are also notes of currant and mulberry fruit along with attractive savoury oak spice. The palate is smooth with good weight and balance, this really is a great example of a new world Cab.
Pale gold with a youthful green tinge. Attractive pineapple, lemon and lime fruit on both the nose and palate with a lively balancing acidity leaving a fresh finish.

A pale straw colour with a hint of green in the glass. Intense nose of fresh pineapple, lemon, citrus and floral notes. The mid-palate is broad and appealing supported by a lingering acidity.
This wine has a deep and intense ruby red colour. The bouquet reveals red berries, sweet black currants and a pleasant herbal character. It's 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and has been aged in French oak for 18 months giving the palate a rich and spicy edge.
Pale yellow in color with a touch of green in the glass. The bouquet has hints of French oak, orange blossom, white peach, lemon zest and hazelnut praline. The palate is full with a medley of citrus fruit, balanced acidity and well integrated oak
