A family story born in the heart of Varrains

In 1890, Louis Daheuiller, son of a sharecropper, began producing his wine on his 4 hectares of vines.

When his son Jean returns from the capital, Louis gives him some plots so that he can try his hand at wine. Jean then fell in love with the vineyard and took over from his father with more ambitions. In 1957, the Saumur-Champigny appellation was created in Varrains, he was one of the founders. It is with Claude, the third generation, that the estate continues to rise, the newspapers say of him that he sprinkles Parisian restaurants with his Champigny, prestigious establishments like the Pavillon Elysée. Laurent, in turn, made his contribution to the family business by perpetuating the estate and taking the time to develop new vintages that are now emblematic. He ensures the transmission of Daheuiller know-how to his son, Nicolas.

Organic cultivation, manual weeding only. The replacement plants come from a mass selection of vines over 100 years old.
