100% old vine Tempranillo from a perfectly ripe and not overly hot vintage this underwent malolactic fermentation and subsequent aging for 2 years in American oak. As with all wines from Alejandro, the wine is unfined and unfiltered. Deeply robed, densely fruity and richly and richly tannic with floral cedar spice and a powerful, rounded finish.

Description

Tempranillo aged in American oak for 18 months.  The weather plays an important role in the quality of this La Mancha terroir and the wines from El Vínculo. The region is subject to more sun, more heat, and less moisture, but the same cold that holds the more northerly Castilian lands. La Mancha boasts an extreme continental climate, where freezing winters give way, almost without transition, to very hot summers; up to 45ºC in summer and -15°C in winter with over three thousand hours of direct sunlight every year. 100% old vine Tempranillo from a perfectly ripe and not overly hot vintage this underwent malolactic fermentation and subsequent aging for 2 years in American oak. 'This earned a ‘Wow!’ from team leader Sam Caporn MW, for its ‘very distinctive aroma of oak, spice, fragrant floral and bacon notes’, with Christoph Hons of Park Chinois admiring ‘lots of spices and good body with mouth-drying tannins but a bold, spicy finish’' - Sommelier Wine Awards 2018, Bronze Medal. 2013 Vintage.
