Tasting notes
Intense and deep purple colour in the glass, this Malbec from Patagonia South Argentina has a nose of morello cherries, ripe plums, sweet spices, freshly ground pepper and a subtle hint of violets. The palate shows decent weight with plenty of fruit, very good balance between smooth sweet tannins and good acidity that will leave you wanted to pour yourself another glass.
Background
P15 refers to Picada 15, one of the many old, dusty and stony roads running through the vineyard in San Patricio del Chanar in Patagonia, South Argentina. Patagonia is still to this day the only place with settlers coming from Wales. This wine is produced using Malbec, Argentina most famous grapes and has perfectly adapted itself to the cool continental climate of Patagonia. Malbec is originally coming from the South of France which has a long tradition in producing quality red wines.
Vines are grown in an eco friendly way encouraging the preservation of local bio diversity. After a careful selection in the vineyard, grapes are fermented in cooled still tanks and part of the wine is aged in barrels to give it that extra layer of complexity.
This Malbec is a definite crowd pleaser and perfect everyday easy drinking wine.
