Dehesa La Granja from Castilla y Leon boasts a ripe cherry-red colour with a ruby edge and a good depth of colour. On the nose it is notable for its fragrance and complexity, with aromas of red and black fruit (blackcurrant and blackberry) together with notes of cedar and mild toasty hints, followed later by hints of spice (pepper) and mineral notes. Powerful and tasty in the mouth with a magnificent backbone and fine, ripe tannins. Elegant and lingering finish.

Dehesa la Granja is fully integrated into the environment of a land it respects deeply; Zamora. This bodega boasts an impressive underground cellar where its famous wines sleep peacefully. 100 % Tempranillo aged in American oak for 2 years.
Dehesa la Granja is one of the four Bodegas that comprise Alejandro Fernandez’s wine legacy and constitute Grupo Pesquera. Alejandro is considered to be the “King of Tempranillo” and is amongst one of the finest winemakers in the world..
Pesquera wines are always made from the whole fruit, after destemming. Temperature controlled fermentation lasts two to three weeks. Afterwards, and without clarifying, the grape pulp is directly transferred to an astute and subtle combination of French and American oak barrels that have been subject to various degrees of toasting. Where, in between frequent pump-overs, the wines are left to stand. Tinto Pesquera wines are aged in oak for 18 months while Reservas and Grandes Reservas are aged for no less than 24 months.
