VINEYARDS
Low-yield vines in the towns of Serrada and La Seca. Soil with abundant gravel that protects the roots of the strains from extreme temperatures in the area between day and night. Factors that contribute to elevating the vivacity and aromatic richness that distinguish this white wine.
REFINING IN THE BOTTLE
The wine was bottled on 25 June 2020, continuing to refine in the bottle to achieve its elegance and complexity.
PREPARATION
Careful harvest, following a rigorous plot selection. The fermentation started slowly with fresh grapes distributed among new French oak barrels of 225 and 500 litres, and concrete egg-shaped pots with capacity of 1,700 litres. This preparation process in small contents was followed by an ageing on fine lees for around 6 months to achieve a volume and structure of great finesse. Only the best cuvées were chosen to create this unique white wine. Limited production of 7,950 bottles.
TASTING NOTES
It shines in the glass with a beige-yellow colour, the result of a partial fermentation in the barrel. Rich and profound on the nose, notes of white fruits peppered with slight mineral and toasted touches that blend into a highly complex register. Extensive and flavoursome on the palate, its delicate toasted notes wrap around the ripe fruit and the aniseed background. Harmonious and long-lasting on the palate, it persists with a pleasant liveliness. A white wine with great expression.
AWARDS
An outstanding example of Rueda – and our top-scoring dry wine from the competition – with notes of toast and vanilla from ageing in barriques, mixed with pineapple and pear fruit, along with a touch of fennel and a juicy, lemony finish. An exciting find that mimics fine white Bordeaux in style and quality, but for a significantly lower price. – Top 10 white wines from The Rueda Masters (2021 vintage)
