Tasting Notes
This Hautes Cotes de Beaune Rouge is a red Burgundy made by Mazilly that evokes cherry and raspberry aromas that develop into cassis and liquorice with time in the glass. The palate shows good fruit with a pleasant savoury edge.
Background
Hautes Cotes de Beaune Rouge is a red wine made from Pinot Noir grapes by Domaine Mazilly Père Et Fils . The wine is named after the hillside that it comes from in Burgundy. A family owned producer, Frederic and Aymeric Mazilly produce high quality red and white wines, the red wines are always easy drinking, full of fruit with well controlled oak flavour. The Pinot Noir grape is early ripening and requires a cool climate, this is no problem for the Mazilly family who have the perfect winemaking techniques to allow the grapes to mature slowly before reaching perfect ripeness.
